Question from Denise: “I need to figure out an easy way to even out skin and remove patchy skin and blemishes.”

Linda: I like Portrait Professional. I see it is on sale again too … just under $30.

Sadie:  It depends a lot on what program you use. I use PSE10 and just use the “band-aid” tool for most. I sometimes use the “dodge” tool to lighten redness, too.

Reva: Patch tool. Sometimes clone/healing brush.

Natalie: Rad lab just came out with a skin program. U can download it for $99.

Jen: I am wanting to get Portrait Professional…I tried the trial and loved it, it was super easy to use!

Pam:  I love portrait professional! It’s easy to use too

Nicole:  What is the difference between portrait professional and Portraiture? Anyone?

Rick:  Another great way is in Lightroom 4.1 It’s soft skin ability is underrated and does an excellent job.

Johnny:  I use Perfect Portrait 3 from CoffeeShop Rita. It’s a free downloadable action for PSE or Photoshop.

Kara:  In photoshop, I copy the layer, than put a surface blur on it. Hold your alt key down and add a mask than lower the opacity and paint the face where you want it evened out. It makes skin look perfect. You have to be careful to not paint over lips and eyes so you don’t lose sharpness.

Shannon: Pic Monkey

Belinda:  I use lightroom and i use the clone brush plus the skin softening brush (you can make your own)

Brian:  I just purchased the Totally Rad product today. It has a lot of actions that you can use. I like how it creates layers for everything you do. Trying to balance retouching a photo and making the person look over done.

Karen: I like Paint Shop Pro X5. It has a skin smoothing option. You can also use the makeover tool to remove wrinkles, dark spots, blemishes and under eye bags. Also has a tooth brush for whitening teeth and an eye dropper to brighten tired looking eyes. It also has a thinefy tab to make someone appear thinner. It’s a Corel product and you can try it free for a month. I love it!!!

Jacqueline: check your aperture & soft focus.
