Question from Whitney: “Do you guys have any recommendations for learning how to navigate CS5? How about suggestions for places/or workshops to take to learn the basics?

Jael: youtube!

Stephanie: Honestly I checked out Adobe Photoshop CS5 for dummies from the library and it was a huge help!!!

Chelsea:  I second YouTube! It has everything you could probably ever need.

Jennifer:  I honestly played around until I figured everything out to a tee…With that being said my photos were just horrible but they were only for me to see so It didn’t matter lol. The Adobe website has some tutorials and show you the basics. Also a lot of photographers offer workshops online for a decent price as well 🙂

Maca: There is also a book “Photoshop CS5 for Dummies” by Peter Bauer that’s quite massive and could be helpful.

Jenn: If you haven’t seen Everyday Elements you should check her out ….and her site. She also does the Pretty Presets for LIghtroom. Amanda’s tutorials are amazing…. very clear. I’ve learned almost everything from her.

Jules: creative live had a workshop with Lesa Snider – Adobe Photoshop Intensive well worth the money to purchase and watch it over and over

Felicia: You can find so many tutorials on how to use just about every tool in Photoshop on Youtube.

Cristian: check the Lynda online training solutions

Becca:  I highly recommend Damien Symonds: Retouching & Photoshop Training – everything I know he taught me thought his on-line classes! Well worth the cost (which isn’t that much).

Pam:  there is a GREAT book… “Photoshop CS5 the missing manual” . I have learned sooooo much from this book!

Danie:  Lydia

Lorraine: YouTube! and the best part, it’s free! :0)

David:  Try to take a photoshop course at your community college. It is better than a crash course 2-5 day cram session.

David:  Or get the book they sell, with the cd and do the whole book.

Dewey: Love Kelby Training and NAPP website

Tyann:  I took our community college class for PS 1 and 2 to learn the tools then went to You Tube tutorials for specific things I wanted to do. Having a good foundation on how to use the tools from the college classes was valuable.

Jennifer:  Lynda

Catrina:  For free? Google and youtube are my best friends. I never took a class or anything, just wanted to start working with something more than iPhoto. Started searching tutorials for things I wanted to do to my photos. There are a lot of GREAT tutorials out there, many TERRIBLE ones, and some really really amazing ones. But I’ve learned something from each one. It’s amazing what you can learn on your own when you’re just messing around!

Terence:  Buy this book from amazon,it uses visual instructions(click here now click this) “Teach yourself visually adobe photoshop CS5”

Whitney: You guys are the best! Thank you!!
