How to Capture the Indoors While in Quarantine

Quarantine has no right to stop you from being creative. It might actually open up a window for interior photography. Learn how you can take amazing photos at home!

Play with sun rays

With light being one of the most important elements of a great photo, the idea of shooting indoors might scare you. But do not be afraid! You do not need a studio to take great pics at home.

Being inside does not have to mean that you are away from sunlight. Watch the way its rays enter your home, by creating inspiring shapes and shadows and capture them. You can turn a regular portrait into a fairy-tale image with the aid of sun rays. Just follow the time when it enters your room and shoot from the right angle.

Hunt for mirrors

If you want to put a creative twist on an indoor picture, one great hack is using mirrors. You can use them to reflect your favorite reading corner for creating a dreamy atmosphere.

You can use big, small, round, or square ones, it does not matter what shape you choose, the visual effect will be amazing. Make interior photography amazing by using any mirror you can find!

Go macro

You know how they stay the greatness is in the details. Well, now you have all the time in the world to focus on little things. The green leaves of the plant on your desk might be a way to start. You will get amazingly vivid shots of pure green.

Other ideas would be going for furniture details, I’m sure it’s something you didn’t think to do before. Well, now, being at home, you can experiment with indoor photography.

Capture smoke or steam

Who said that you cannot enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon tea while taking photos? Do it while they are hot and capture steam play. These shots will surely stand out on your Instagram feed.

Open the windows

For those of you who long for being outside, you should know that there is a way in which you can do that. You just open your window and look at the sky. Use its colors as inspiration or the fluffy clouds as main elements.

You can also take pictures of pictures or blocks while in lockdown. The secret is to look around and notice every detail there is.
