Glam Photography Session Essentials
The Clothes: What your client wears is really important. This is a glam photo shoot, after all! Discuss what kind of style each client has and what kind of image they want to convey. From there, you can decide on outfits and accessories together. A few rules of thumb include having a pop (or two) of color, incorporating graphic patterns into the look and infusing texture (ex. flowing fabrics, shiny leather, starchy jean jackets, fuzzy faux fur) when possible.
The Hair/Makeup: If you want to provide an authentic glam photo session for your clients, shop around for local hair and makeup artists and then hire them. The cost of the artists’ time should be included in your glam session package price. Hiring hair and makeup professionals ensures your clients look amazing, which bodes well for your finished product.
The Set: Make your client feel like a star. Provide on-set food and beverages and make sure the day is all about your clients. Play their favorite music on set and be sure to tell them how amazing they look. Confidence is also key in a successful glam photo shoot.
The Partnership: Establish partnerships with local clothing and accessory boutiques. In exchange for you sending clients their way, they can provide discounts to clients on their merchandise and/or send clients your way.
