“My question: What type of packaging does anyone use or recommend for DVD’s. At this time it’s how I am doing my business and not selling prints just yet. I have Clear DVD cases but doesn’t seem quiet professional enough IMO. Tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Laura: Mckennapro has CD tins. I also buy my CDS from there as I don’t give enough files to fill up a DVD.

Andrea: I found a local lady who makes custom cases … Made from stiff paper… Perhaps you can find someone if your area.. Or of your crafty buy some pretty paper and ribbons and see what you can do

Andrea:  I also print my own cd labels !

Kerry: You may use clear cases but if you have a printer (does not have to be top of the line) you can print out your favorite pic from the shoot to put inside the cover. I also put the family name across the top or bottom of the pic w/ the year. Also put a small watermark near a corner so anyone who looks at the CD will get your site too. Good luck.

Kelsey: I love McKenna pro cd tins!!

Teri:  Etsy has some cute custom cd cases

Stephanie: I designed and got printed a 5×5 tri fold card through Pro Digital Photos! I love them! They have a port for the disk on the middle of the inside.

Lynley: Check out Millers lab. They have very professional awesome looking CD/DVD packaging!!

Alli: Have you considered switching to custom USBs?

Lynley: And how many photos are you providing that you need a DVD instead of a CD?

Mandy:  Rice studio

Michele:  I custom design a case and cd and order from millers. They r fantastic and my clients love them!!

Tim: Use MPIX Pro. Excellent. Packaging.

Maria: I have labels that I personalize for each client. Then put them in a recycled cd sleeve with a logo sticker on the front!

Christie:  Mpix pro!!

Jodie: We buy the slim black cases. We alsu use Lightscribe dvd’s. We design a custom graphic to print onto the Lightscribe dvd. Then we choose 2 of our favorite shots and print 5×7 prints to serve as the front and back cover of the dvd case. My husband will also add the name of the client to the pic for the front cover as well. It’s looks great and our clients just love it!!!

Cara: I use recycled paper sleeves. I wrap a 1″ long piece of scrapbook paper that works with my colors around it. Then I wrap a piece of thin hemp twine around it a few times and tie a bow. I place a 3×5 press printed card inside. The card is designed on one side, and contains my print release and info on the other. It sticks out the top of the sleeve about a 1/4 inch, so I designed it to look like a file folder pull-tab labeled “digital image guide.” Paired with a custom light scribe DVD it looks rather nice, but costs me only a couple bucks and some time to put tighter.

Jaye: I stopped using DVDs altogether and now use custom USB zip drives. Clients love them and they are re-usable (most of my clients have said they use them for work/school all the time). I get 8GB ones just so they can keep their images on there and still have lots of space for other things. It’s about the same price as a custom DVD and case.

MaryGene:  Where is the best price for custom USB drives?

Sarah:  I print out a picture for the cover if the clear CD holder then its almost personalized

Monica: I agree about the custom USB drives. I feel like they go over better with the clients, make more of an impression, are more customizable in the long run, and save on shipping!

Kimberly: Jaye and Monica, where do you order yours from?
