7 Ways To Jump Start Your Senior Business This Year

Need help reaching seniors? We have some great ideas to help you get more exposure and more bookings this spring.

1.    Start promoting prom mini sessions.

Prom

Prom season is just around the corner! Start advertising now on your blog, website, and social media sites that you will be shooting prom sessions (or mini sessions) this year! Don’t forget to directly contact any seniors you’ve already worked with as well.

2.    Advertise for last minute seniors for this year.

There are only a few months left of school and once it’s warm and everything is beautiful outside again, there will be even less time before graduation comes. Remind seniors who haven’t gotten their portraits done yet that they need to schedule their session before it is too late and all the spots are taken.

3.    Post a model call for your senior reps for next year’s graduating class.

Senior Reps Facebook

Now is the perfect time to start looking for your next set of senior reps. Place a model call on your blog, send it out in an email, and blast it out on your social media sites to let this year’s juniors know you are looking for reps.

By the time you get everyone’s applications in, make your choices, and schedule your sessions, it is going to be nearing summer. You want to be able to ensure that they have a little bit of time to advertise for you before school ends.

4.    Offer services to start shooting lifestyle at graduation ceremonies and parties.

Graduation

A lot of seniors combine their graduation parties for two main reasons:

a)    They have a lot of the same friends, so this ensures that everyone can go to everyone’s parties with the least scheduling issues as possible.

b)   They want to cut costs.

Pitch the idea of having a professional photographer at the graduation and/or party to document the whole thing. Parents will love this because they will have great photos, and they can share the cost. Also, they will be able to relax and enjoy this grand event without having to worry about getting all the shots themselves.

5.    Set up some BF/BFF sessions.

Start offering boyfriend and/or best friend sessions. These seniors are all about to go their separate ways, so what better time to get all of your best friends together and make some fun last minute memories? You can offer these as full or mini sessions depending on your preference. Offer them a free Facebook timeline cover for easy sharing of their awesome photos.

6.    Purchase yearbook or sports program inserts.

Too late to purchase a yearbook ad? Try the next best thing! Ask local schools if you can include an ad insert in their yearbook. This is something that is placed loosely within the cover of the book. You can insert a coupon, flyer, or postcard to let students know about your company. This will help maximize your exposure. So, when someone picks up their yearbook, it will be in the front cover and they can just take it out. You can take this same idea and apply it to sports or school musicals/performances’ programs.

7.  Offer senior photo booths at prom, after-prom parties, and graduation parties.

Photo booths make fun and easy entertainment for any party! This will also help to get you more exposure with the students and earn some extra income. Make sure to have marketing pieces for the students to take home, as lots of upcoming seniors and their parents attend these parties.
